WINGATE -- John William (Billy) Swanson, 78, died at 10:43 a. m. Saturday in Culver Hospital, where he had been a patient since Nov. 18. He had been ill since Aug. 1. Mr. Swanson was born Aug. 28, 1880, at Fowler, a son of John and Mary Garreau Swanson. He was married May 12, 1925, to Rachel E. Botenberg at Wingate. She preceded him in death. Since 1906 he had lived in the Wingate and New Richmond communities, making his home since 1947 with Mrs. Ida and Roy Geiger near New Richmond. He was a member of the Wingate Methodist Church and the Masonic Lodge. Surviving are a sister, Mrs. Minnie Gilburg of Watseka, Ill., and several nieces and nephews. Funeral rites are set for 1:30 p. m. Tuesday at the Servies Funeral Home at Waynetown. Friends may call there after 2 p. m. Monday. Rev. Delbert Smith will officiate and interment will be in the Greenlawn Cemetery at Wingate
